Alexa Mackintire ‘14 of St. Mark's Named Field Hockey All-American for Second Consecutive Year

Alexa Mackintire ’14, a VI Former from Westborough, MA, was recently named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) All-America First Team. Only 16 high school athletes in the entire United States gain this distinction. This is the second consecutive year that Alexa has earned this honor.

This past fall, Alexa helped St. Mark’s Varsity field hockey win the championships of both the Independent School League and the New England Preparatory School Athletic Conference, again for the second straight year. Mackintire led the St. Mark’s team in scoring during the past three seasons, and is a three-time All-ISL selection. She was named to the NEPSAC All-Tournament team for each of the last three post-seasons, and in both 2012 and 2013 was recognized as the NEPSAC Tournament Most Valuable Player. A multiple All-Region NEFHCA All-Star, Alexa was also the St. Mark’s Field Hockey MVP for the past two years.

In 2010 and 2011, Alexa was selected to the USA Under-17 National Field Hockey team, captaining that squad in 2011. In 2012, year she was selected to the USA Under-19 National squad.

Congratulations to Alexa! With more honors undoubtedly still to come, she continues to exemplify the best of the St. Mark’s scholar-athlete.
