Casey Carreau '17of Thayer Wins John Carlton Memorial Trophy

Casey Carreau '17 received the John Carlton Memorial Trophy, which is awarded to the top high school hockey player in Eastern Massachusetts. He accepted the award at last night's Bruins game at the TD Garden. Carreau plans to attend Boston College next year. Congratulations, Casey!

 
 
St. Mark’s Triumphant in Successful Frozen Fenway Debut

Wednesday night, the St. Mark's Boys' Varsity Hockey team led by Coach Scott Young '85 won a thrilling come-from-behind victory over arch-rival Groton in its first-ever appearance on the ice at Fenway Park. Several hundred students, faculty, alumni, and their families braved the freezing temperatures to watch as the Lions erased a 0-1 deficit to win 2-1.

Belmont Hill's Michael Condon '09 Makes Roster for Montreal Canadiens

Following a stellar career at Belmont Hill and Princeton, Michael Condon '09 made the team this year as goalie for the Montreal Canadiens.

Condon had a spectacular career on the Hill and as a senior had a 2.23 goals-against average and had a .934 save percentage playing some of the toughest high school teams in the country. That year he was named ISL Most Valuable Player, and a member of the All-ISL and All-New England teams, a Boston Globe All-Scholastic honor and his team’s Most Valuable Player. Junior year Condon finished with a 2.06 goals-against and a .931 save percentage, and was an All-ISL choice and the team’s Most Valuable Player.

Miles Gendron '14 of Rivers Drafted by NHL's Ottawa Senators

On Saturday June 28, the Ottawa Senators selected Miles Gendron ’14 with the 70th pick in the 2014 NHL Draft. The 2014 ISL Eberhart Division MVP was the second NEPSAC player selected and is the first Rivers hockey player to ever be selected in the NHL Draft.
 
Before any NHL career begins, however, Miles will be playing a year of junior hockey in the British Columbia Hockey League for the Penticton Vees. He will attend the University of Connecticut, where he signed a National Letter of Intent, beginning in the fall of 2015.

Carl Corazzini Named St. Mark's  Boys’ Varsity Hockey Coach For  2014-15 Season

Former BU hockey captain and professional hockey player Carl Corazzini has been tapped to be the sixteenth head coach of Boys’ Varsity Hockey at St. Mark’s. Corazzini will succeed SM alumnus Scott Young ’85, who after four years as the Lion’s head coach will be moving on to become Director of Men’s Hockey Operations at Boston University.

Miles Gendron '14 of Rivers Named Jack Carlton Award Winner

Miles Gendron ’14 was named the 2014 recipient of the Jack Carlton Award, given annually to the best senior boys’ hockey player in Eastern Massachusetts by the Boston Bruins. This honor comes on the heels of a senior season in which Miles captained the Red Wings to the ISL Eberhart Championship and Sportsmanship Award, garnering MVP honors in the process.

Roxbury Latin's Zach Markell '10, Helps Georgetown Capture Three Consecutive ACCHL Championships

During President’s Day weekend, the Hoya Hockey team won the Atlantic Coast Collegiate Hockey League (ACCHL) Championship for the third consecutive year. It was a fantastic tournament, held at the U.S. Naval Academy’s rink in Annapolis, Maryland. Each game was closely contested and Georgetown’s victories were achieved as the result of a total team effort.

Rivers Boys' Hockey Faced the U.S. Women's National Team on January 21

The Rivers School boys’ hockey team had the unique opportunity to scrimmage the United States Women’s Olympic Hockey team at The Belmont Hill School earlier this month.
